Animation Workshop 05/12/2017 - 07/12/2017
Festival in Media

For the first time at Tbilisi International Film Festival (TIFF) a workshop dedicated to animation will take place. The French director Chloé Mazlo, who won the Cesar Prize for the best animated short film in 2015, will be the trainer at the 3-day workshop during which she will demonstrate and transfer her knowledge in the stop motion technique using plasticine and other materials.

Everyone is welcome to participate, including students and professionals who are involved in visual arts and films.

During the workshop the participants will be asked to work on a diary in animation, using mixed media such as cameras (or cell-phone cameras), papers, scissors, markers, pens, laptops... They will work alone and in groups. The principal goal is to succeed in telling a story and talk about feelings with limited time and resources; to think about what the image can provide compared to text or speech; (try to) learn to work in a spontaneous way.

The working language will be English.

Individuals interested in participating in the workshop will have to send a short motivation letter to:

Up to 20 applications will be selected to attend the Animation workshop. There is no age limit. The results of the selection will be published on November 24th on Tbilisi International Film Festival official site.

Deadline: November 20th, 2017
