Q&A with Canadian director Denis Côté
Festival in Media

Today in the Amirani Cinema was screening of Canadian director Denis Côté's movie "Curling" and Q&A session with the director. Denis Côté is this year's "Director in Focus" and at our film festival we present his three films.

Set on the fringe of society, in a remote part of the countryside, Curling takes a keen look at the unusual private life of a father and his daughter. Between his unremarkable jobs, Jean-François Blain devotes an awkward energy to Julyvonne. The fragile balance of their relationship will be jeopardized by some very dreary circumstances.

Denis Côté was born in 1973 in Perth-Andover, Canada. Studied film at Collège Ahuntsic in Montreal. 1994 founds nihil productions. Directed numerous short films, worked as radio film critic and from 1999-2005 as journalist for ICI magazine. His films have screened and received awards at prestigious festivals including Locarno, Berlin and Cannes.

Let me remind you that at the opening ceremony of the 18th Tbilisi International Film Festival Denis Côté was awarded with honorable "Golden Prometheus".
