Closing of The 18th Film Festival

On December 9, at 7 pm at Amirani Cinema, the official part of 18th Tbilisi International Film Festival will be closed with the premiere of Georgian film Namme by Director Zaza Khalvashi.
Prior to this, the owners of the main prizes of the festival - Golden and Silver Prometheus will be revealed.

Annually, new films of European directors compete in the International Competition for the main prize. The competition aims at introducing new faces and film tendencies to the audience.

The films from the International Competition are estimated by five-member jury: British Director Uberto Pasolini is the Head of Jury, while other jury members are Film Critic, Program Coordinator at Seattle International Film Festival Maryna Ajaja (USA), Director Srdjan Dragojevic (Serbia), Actor Stephane Rideau (France) and Literature Critic and Actor Lasha Bakradze (Georgia).

For the first time this year "The European Union for Georgia" dedicated a special prize to the film from the International Competition with a focus on Human Rights. On the Human Rights Day on December 10, the special screening of the winning film will be followed.
The winners of the National Competition will also be revealed on the closing day. For the second time this year Prometheus will be awarded in 3 nominations: The Best Full Feature Film, The Best Short Film and The Best Documentary Film. As for the jury, together with German film critics Erika and Ulrich Gregor, Georgian films are evaluated by British film critic and journalist Carmen Gray.

The National Competition - Georgian Panorama is the traditional section uniting this year's most significant Georgian films. The program aims at supporting promotion of Georgian films among the wide audience.
