Festival in Media
2018-05-31

Only 6 months left till the 19th Tbilisi International Film Festival. The organizational team started working on the program right after the finish of the 18th festival.

Main supporter of the festival is the State which finances the festival through three institutions. As a rule, funds from the Ministry of Culture and Sport of Georgia, Georgian National Film Centre, and Tbilisi City Hall Municipal Department of Culture make up 50-60% of the festival budget. An agreement with the state sector has been recently signed. Ministry of Culture allocated 100 000, National Film Centre - 120 000, Municipal Department of Culture allocated 85 000 for the festival.

It is to remember that Ministry of Culture has been funding our festival since 2007 (with the exception of the year 2011). National Film Centre provides the festival with financial support since 2004 and Municipal Department of Culture - since 2003 (with the exception of 2006). Last year, in 2017 the funds derived from the state structures made up 293 016. This year, the amount has increased to 305 000.

For years the festival had support from different local and international donor organizations, such as: "Heinrich Böll Foundation", "Georgian Film Development Foundation", "Open Society - Georgia Foundation".

Besides, the festival is greatly supported by private sector: "Adjaranet", „Tbilvino", "Borjomi", Rooms Hotel etc.

With the support of foreign countries' embassies and accredited culture organizations in Tbilisi it becomes possible to organize many interesting film screenings and guest visits. Our partners are: Goethe-Institut, French Institute of Georgia, British Council, Embassies of Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Israel, Poland, Adam Mickiewicz Institute and a lot more.
