Nana Ekvtimishvili

Nana is a scriptwriter, director and producer born in Tbilisi, Georgia. After graduating from Potsdam-Babelsberg Film Academy, she directed two feature films. Her debut work In Bloom premiered at Berlin International Film Festival in 2013 and won the International Confederation of Art Cinemas’ Prize. Since then, it was screened at more than 100 film festivals, won more than 30 awards, and was distributed in cinemas in around 15 countries around the world.

Her second feature film My Happy Family premiered at Sundance and Berlin International Film Festivals in 2017. Film’s global distribution rights were acquired by Netflix, and it was acknowledged as the best film of the year in international media multiple times. The film won a number of international festival awards and was distributed in cinemas in Georgia, Germany and France.

In 2015, Nana published her first novel The Pear Field that was translated into English, German and Dutch languages and published in several countries.
